The International Seniors Amateur Golf Society
The International Seniors Amateur Golf Society was founded in 1966 with a mission to “promote friendly international golf competition and good fellowship for senior golfers from around the world.” The inaugural International Seniors Championship was played in 1966 at Gleneagles, Scotland, and attracted a field of 144 participants from 17 countries. The growth of International Seniors continues today as we have grown to over 400 members who are taking part in a unique experience that combines a passion for golf and international travel.
Over the last 57 years, ISAGS has developed into a prestigious International Association of over 400 members from over 20 countries. We meet twice a year at fantastic destinations around the world to have spirited competition and the opportunity to renew friendships. Our week-long events start off with two optional practice rounds and a fantastic opening ceremony featuring flags from all the participating countries. The men play four rounds of Stableford competition in several flights: Gross Stableford, Stableford, and Super Senior Stableford. The women play either a three-day, two-day Stableford competition or social golf. For non–playing spouses there are planned activities every day featuring exciting opportunities to participate and learn about the local culture.
Most importantly we travel to exclusive resorts of only 5-Star status. Each of the venues we visit offer first class accommodations, cuisine, and amenities. Usually, the resort features 2 or 3 golf courses designed by world renowned designers. It is a truly marvelous experience for everyone. Nightly cocktail parties and planned dinners offer multiple chances to develop new friendships and renew established ones. The week ends with a final closing dinner and prizegiving.
